oh my god

this is absolute shit, and not drum n bass. i can't believe you made 90 accounts to five this, i will now make 500 accounts to blam this.

meh

your lead square gets old fast. the ambient soundscape you have at about 20 seconds really doesn't fit, also, your in between hi-hats should come in at 20. i dont think you had any hi hats now that i think about it. also, no offense, but the whole thing just doesn't sound very good. the only part i kind of felt was the very end breakdown, for some reason that sounded the most right.

zenodio responds:

I have the same feeling, really. I honestly don't like it.
But as i wrote in the "author comments" box, i didn't really make a big deal out of this.

This reack is below my standards, but thanks for the review anyways.

you claim this is an expiriment

well, its safe to say, expiriment failed. You are using shit default drum sounds, you have very inactive and low bass for a house song. the temp is incredibly slow and the whole song just drags along spitting out shit sound effects and noises every 2 seconds. d yourself a favor and download "The vengance pack".

TreeDonkey responds:

The drum samples that were used are as follows:
VEH2 Hard Kicks - 023
VEC3 Snares 042
VEC3 Cymbals Ride 04
VEC3 Cybals Ride 03
VEH2 Soft Kicks 032
VEH2 Open HiHats 014
VEH2 Open HiHats 017
VEH2 Open HiHats 018

These are ALL samples from the Vengeance Soundpack. You have a bad ear for music I can see.
My bassline goes; 'sa titi sa titi sa ta titi sa'. I agree that it is pretty low and it could be alittle more active.
I wouldn't say the tempo is INCREDIBLY slow, it's 132BPM.
Because this is in unison it doesn't have a melodic structure what so ever, so my only idea was to have that "shit sound effect" to add more of a rhythm to compensate for the missing melody.
This was more of a challenge rather then an experiment. I appreciate your review and I see that I haven't risen to my challenge.

its okay i guess

should really have quiet bass and light percussion, ambient is no excuse for laziness, though it sounds very calming and interesting, if repetitive

Mushroom responds:

I tried it with percussion and it seemed to ruin the generally pentatonic nature of it. Besides, I thought the kalimba-type sound gave it a sort of rhythmic bounciness without being actual untuned percussion.
I agree with you that the bass sound should probably be different, but this was just an experiment to see what I could make in exactly 15 minutes, so I'm content to let it lie for the moment :P
Thanks for the review.

ehhh

your drums sound way to muffled, and your kick is really out of place.
